The American magazine "Foreign Policy" says that Saudi Arabia is using its Shiite citizens’ protests as a pretext to intimidate the Sunni Saudi of the takeover of Iran's oil fields in Saudi Arabia.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The magazine stated that the oppressive conduct pursued by the Saudi leadership toward Shiites is an essential part of political legitimacy in the Kingdom.

The magazine confirmed that at least seven young Shiites have been shot dead by Saudi security forces and dozens were wounded in eastern Saudi Arabia in recent months.

Although the uprising of Saudi Shiites has taken a new urgency in the context of the Arab revolutions spring of 2011, the uprising of Saudi Arabia has been largely ignored by the mainstream media.

Saudi Arabia does not intend to change the situation with the Shiites and it is also using Saudi Shiite protests as a pretext to intimidate the Sunni Saudi population of Iran’s attempt to seize Saudi oil fields with the help of local Shiites.

The Persian Gulf media is working to deepen the idea of supporting Shiite sectarian division in the Persian Gulf States. This is what the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) has been dealing with over the past months.

The intervention of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council of Bahrain has severely abused the sectarian relations in the Persian Gulf region to a level not seen in the region since the Iranian revolution.
